Below is a selection of images of various collections from the Keucke label (2002-2009) and some from my work as in house designer for Sisters and Co. Mt Maunganui (2010-2015). It is interesting to see the designs responding to place even back then with broody Dunedin styles from when the label was based out of there, to the fresh bold designs coming out of Mt Maunganui. These fashion collections were highly thematic with titles such as, ‘Women who run with the wolves’, ‘The Big Bang’ and ‘Lost and Found’, with a strong focus on simple patternmaking, curved lines and elaborate tailoring. The key parallels with my current practice is a strong focus on shape, form and texture with a tendency to minimalism and strong clean lines.
